Standard Xvid MPEG-4 Part 2 maxes out at 8-bit color depth — 10-bit encodes aren’t part of the official Xvid spec. If you encounter a file claiming 10-bit Xvid, it’s likely misidentified or uses a non-standard encoder fork.
